ACELT organizes training for grade 7 DepEd teachers
Leong Hall was a hive of activity on Monday, 21 May 2012 as 191 teachers registered for the Regional Training for Grade 7 English Teachers in the K-12 Curriculum commissioned by the Department of Education and organized by the Ateneo de Manila University through the Ateneo Center for English Language Teaching (ACELT). The training program, from 21-25 May 2012, is a 5-day live-in teacher training seminar in preparation for the roll out of the Grade 7 curriculum under the K-12 program reform.
Supported by the office of the Vice President for the Loyola Schools and the Dean of the School of Humanities, ACELT welcomed 191 public school teachers who will teach Grade 7 when the new school year begins in June. At the opening program, Dr. John Paul Vergara, Vice President of the Loyola Schools, personally came to welcome the participants. Dean Marlu Vilches of the School of Humanities also gave an inspirational talk on 22 May.
