The Ateneo Innovation Center (www.ateneoinnovation.org) is the part of the School of Science and Engineering where Ateneo technology researchers and developers create new product concepts, collaborate in multi-discipline problem solving, and incubate new businesses by working with Filipino tech-based companies and investors. Ateneo thesis students participate in Center programs through Ateneo various inter-disciplinary technology based projects.

These technologists come from all departments in SOSE to work on leading edge technologies like growing algae for oil, low cost LED lighting systems, UAV imaging services, software as a service for various applications, and low cost medical diagnostics that can be nurture into businesses.

Many students chose to take the Innovation and Technology classes offered by the Innovation Center as an elective course. This course complements their science and engineering education with case studies of highly innovative companies and evaluation of hot new ideas. Students learn to discuss the technology behind new ideas, the business potential of an inventions, and the significance of the breakthrough to the Philippines.

Ateneo Innovation actively pursues Industrial and NGO partners like The Medical City, Smart Communications, Japan Radio Corporation, Ionics Inc. Philippines, Alsons Aquaculture, Tao Holding Company, Manila Observatory, and iBoP with our School of Government. In this way the research projects in SOSE that are coursed through the Ateneo Innovation Center already have active industry participation. Research Associates of the Center hail from R&D organization worldwide and these international researchers provide motivation and guidance for our projects.
